CANSTRUCTION®
On March 27, 2009, architects, engineers, contractors and interior designers will have an opportunity to showcase their creativity as SDA, AIA, Cleveland Food Bank, Beachwood Place and Herschman Architects host this annual food drive with a twist. The 2009 Canstruction® event, a unique philanthropic project designed to call attention to hunger in greater Cleveland, reflects the spirit of a design/build competition in combination with feeding hungry people. Competing teams will convene at Beachwood Place on Friday March 27, 2009 to build giant sculptures made entirely of canned foods. On Saturday, March 28, the sculptures will be judged, and an awards gala will follow at McCormick & Schmick’s restaurant. It is an opportunity for the Cleveland design community to exhibit their creativity and ingenuity while helping the Cleveland Food Bank feed hungry people at more than 450 centers in Northeast Ohio.
