Herschman History

1974
Founder Jerry Herschman leaves the comforts of a large architectural firm and opens his first office in historic Shaker Square with one client and relentless determination. Jerry’s unique ability to combine contemporary styling with practical solutions became a trademark that would launch a long, successful career.

 

1983
Herschman Architects, now with numerous commercial and retail clients, expands to 7 employees and relocates to Beachwood, sharing space with a local printing company. Building relationships has been the backbone of steady growth. Maintaining integrity with retail clients, HA began to foster relationships with national developers, contractors and architects.

 

1989
With an increasing national client base, Herschman Architects outgrows its space once again and relocates to a new building in Beachwood, Ohio. HA designs the office building and its studio within, the coming years would see the company continue to grow and absorb adjacent space to expand its studio. Jerry’s influence and passion for architecture has passed to the many people now helping to carry the torch.

 

2005 – Present
Herschman Architects, a corporation with three principles and sixty employees, moves into its new and current home experiencing the greatest growth in staff and production, introducing an engineering department, a reproduction department and a satellite office in Tucson, Arizona. HA has truly become what Jerry Herschman first envisioned, an all-inclusive design studio for retailers and developers looking for creative, timely solutions by people who understand their industry.
